About the Tongue River Winery Bed & Breakfast

Bob and Marilyn Thaden are the owners of Tongue River Winery and the Tongue River Winery Bed & Breakfast. While Bob is integral to the winery, Marilyn is the head honcho at the Bed & Breakfast, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and at home.

The Tongue River Winery opened in 2010, and the Bed & Breakfast followed in 2016. The Thadens originally expanded their home to create space for their elderly parents, who lived with them for many years. After their parents passed, the home felt quiet and empty—a stark contrast to the full, lively household they had always known.

Rather than let that space remain quiet, Bob and Marilyn decided to fill it with people, conversation, and the warmth of hospitality. That vision became the Tongue River Winery Bed & Breakfast, offering guests a traditional B&B experience rooted in genuine Montana hospitality.

The mission is to share a love for Eastern Montana and provide visitors with an authentic Eastern Montana experience. The focus is on the guest experience—showcasing the people, landscape, culture, and pace of life that make southeast Montana unique.

Located adjacent to Tongue River Winery, guests can arrange wine tastings and enjoy locally produced wines as part of their stay, making the Bed & Breakfast a distinctive destination for travelers looking to experience Montana beyond the typical tourist trail.

Tongue River Winery Bed & Breakfast offers a traditional B&B experience located within the Thaden family home, providing guests with a welcoming, lived-in Montana hospitality atmosphere.

Guest Rooms

Three guest rooms are available, each featuring a queen-size bed and a private sink:

• The Vineyard Room – Accessible through the main entrance; shares a bathroom.
• The River Room – Accessible through the main entrance; shares a bathroom.
• The Sunny Room – Pet-friendly, includes a private bathroom and a private entrance, with optional access through the main entrance of the home.

Breakfast Service

• A continental breakfast is always available.
• A full breakfast is available upon request at no additional charge.
• Breakfast times are flexible and negotiable with guests.
• Many meals feature ingredients grown on-site or sourced from local Eastern Montana farms.

Check-In and Check-Out
